Q. What are the Rules of Golf?

Click here for full details as outlined by the R&A.

Q. When to hit a provisional ball?
It is appropriate to hit a provisional ball if you believe your ball may be hard to find after hitting a shot.

The provisional ball is ‘in play’ after you have spent 3 mins looking for your original ball.

Q. Is the 10% Service Charge mandatory in the Carraige House?
No, in the carriage house this charge is optional and you may ask for it to be removed.

Q. How are competition prizes calculated. Is there a template for this?
In general terms the golfing years prizes are a total of 50% of the clubs income.

Q. What is the policy and who is in charge of policing no shows and late pull
outs?
Not turning up for a competition tee time booked in your name is deemed a no-show.

No shows are the responsibility of the clubs competition secretary.

Cancellation after close of pro shop on the day preceding
the competition is deemed as insufficient notice and a “no show”.

If you have a valid reason for not turning up or cancelling
your tee time after the close of pro shop on the preceding day your explanation should be emailed to Courseetiquette@cartonhousemembers.com within 48 hours to avoid further sanctions.
